'BLAU' 1950's Steel Chair
Beautiful 1950's steel rod arm chair with wooden arms, which has been re-upholstered in my hand printed and embroidered fabric. Navy, charcoal and petrol blue screen printed abstract forms are layered on handwoven organic cotton canvas, with navy wool embroidered details. Very like an Ernest Race Rocker or Antelope Chair, however this is not a Race design and the origins are unknown. The frame has been stripped back to raw metal and the arms have been sanded smooth and waxed. This is a restored and rare vintage piece in lovely condition.
NB: The stripped back metal and wooden arms have character and a patina in keeping with the age of the piece. The metal frame could also be repainted. Fabric should be treated as delicate and can be scotch guarded.
Measures 88cm high, 48cm seat height, 66cm wide, 62cm deep. Collection from my studio in Margate or email for a delivery quote.
